Uses of Granite
With improving technologies, it has become easier than ever to fabricate granite for your kitchen countertop, which is continually its most popular use. One of the many reasons for this is that it is virtually impossible to scratch and very difficult to stain. Because everything is measured on-site, the countertop fits perfectly to the cabinets you have selected. Granite is also incredibly sturdy and will last for quite a long time.
The perhaps secondary, but just as important reason is the sheer beauty of the granite. With so many color choices, it is nearly impossible not to find one that matches and enhances your cabinets’ color and design. Despite its popularity in the kitchen, granite can be and is used in a variety ways throughout the home.
Granite tiles are a popular choice for flooring (even in our showroom!) with polished tiles of usually 16” being used in areas where spills aren’t common and smaller, honed tiles used in the kitchen.
A wonderful way to enhance a fireplace is to place granite around it, as opposed to brick or other options. People use granite for mantles, hearths, and other surrounding pieces to provide a gorgeous combination with the view of the warm fire.
Due to its water resistance, granite is a welcome addition to any bathroom often being used as bath tub surroundings, vanities, or in walk-in showers.
Not only is granite water-resistant but it is also resistant to the elements when used outdoors around pools or hot tubs. Here, the granite is usually honed or mosaic to prevent slipperiness.
With all these choices, it should be obvious that granite is a beautiful and long-lasting choice for almost any option. |
