Here you will find several articles detailing information that you might find beneficial to your stone experience
Uses of Granite
With improving technologies, it has become easier than ever to fabricate granite for your kitchen countertop, which is continually its most popular use. One of the many reasons for this is that it is virtually impossible to scratch and very difficult to stain. Granite is also incredibly sturdy and will last for quite a long time.
The perhaps secondary, but just as important reason is the sheer beauty of the granite. With so many color choices, it is nearly impossible not to find one that matches and enhances your cabinets color and design. Despite its popularity in the kitchen, granite can be and is used in a variety ways throughout the home.
A wonderful way to enhance a fireplace is to place granite around it, as opposed to brick or other options. People use granite for mantles, hearths, and other surrounding pieces to provide a gorgeous combination with the view of the warm fire.
Due to its water resistance, granite is a welcome addition to any bathroom often being used as vanities, walk in showers or bath surrounds, outside kitchen projects.
With all these choices, it should be obvious that granite is a beautiful and long-lasting choice for almost any option.
Uses of Marble
Marble, while a natural stone like granite, is much softer and is therefore not used in as many ways. Unlike granite, marble is not scratch resistant.
By far marble's most popular use is in bathroom vanities and floors. Floor tiles can be made either polished or honed based on choice and place within the home. The marble provides an elegant and wonderful look to every room.
Uses of Quartz
Quartz is manmade material and has dull finish. Quartz should be stain resistant, but it is not completely heat resistant. Could be used same as granite.
